It’s a sacred time for a woman to be pregnant, and the significance has a great effect on her loved ones too. What I enjoy about being a maternity photographer is using light to reflect the beauty and essence of this waiting, nurturing period. Light and people - what a magical medium. First-time subjects find themselves a lot more comfortable in front of the camera than typically expected.

My portable studio setup gives this shoot a unique flavour, and produces flattering results. It can be complimented with some spontaneous outdoor and indoor shots at your place - making your logistics easy. We can also include a variety of lighting/background/dress styles - what fun! Themes can include beauty shots with that stand-out dress, couple/family options, nature settings, and semi nude/nudes. Sessions can last for up to 2 hours depending on the subject’s energy levels (plus setup/dismantle times). 

I will then upload the processed images - ready for you to download/share/print and look back on for years to come. As a bonus, you’ll receive 10 images in black ’n white absolutely free. Maternity sessions are offered in Golden Bay and Motueka for $340 + travel from Takaka (90c/km rtn).
